Whilst driving noticed that the van smells (and tastes) very fumey, had a look underneath and 1 of the exhaust studs is loose, no problems just tighten it up, no chance the whole stud is loose so guessing the threads in the head have stripped. Are they M8 and can i get away with heli-coiling it? :?

Yes ,had to do one on mine but the engine was out so made it easy to do.Take the engine out and fix your sender at the same time :D

You can get oversized studs which are 9 mm on the block side and normal on the exhaust side.
You just need to tap it out to suit.I bought a couple for mine but didnt fit because I run a type 4.
You can have one if you get stuck ( if I can find it in the debri in the back of our bus  )
