Im at my wits end with this one. I wonder if someone out there can point me in the right direction.
Ive got a 1760cc engine which I have recently fitted a 6 rib gearbox to. Im using my early bell housing off of my original gearbox together with my original clutch.
When I ran it the clutch started slipping, it was obvious that the clutch wasn't man enough for the job so I fitted a stage 1 kennedy clutch. This wasn't totally straightforward as the release bearing is different. So I fitted a guide tube that fits over the input shaft together with a different release arm.
I put it all back together and put the engine back in. I adjusted up the clutch and started her up. It made a squeaking noise and the clutch was constantly engaged.
Ive just dropped the engine again and the tube that goes around the input shaft appears to be too long. As a result it has pushed up against the pressure plate and ground off the end of the tube whilst taking the release bearing with it
Ive just about had enough, next topic will be in the for sale section at this rate!!
If anyone has any bright ideas please send em my way.
