Hi
Doing some work on the bus and noticed that engine number has been removed and new one added using the ref AD TR 786. I guess this means the unit has been rebuilt at some time? Anyone recognise this type of code as i'd be interested to know who rebuilt it (bus came with very little paper history)?

Mine has AD TR 1896.

As far as I can tell, the AD refers to a 1600 twin port, 50bhp, 8/70-7/73.

I could be way off the mark here mind, and have no idea what the rest means. (have been meaning to ask on here) :)

hi
think it must be a remtec unit as mine just fitted has ADTR prefix.

Thanks Ginga that's exactly what i needed to know. That'll explain the 009 distributor then. According to their website they keep records for all engines rebuilt so i'll try emailing to see if they will tell me when the work was done (not really needed but just nice to know). I hope the new engine you've fitted from them is good - they certainly seem to have a pretty good rep. All you have to do now is run it in :D Andy
