Well not that drastic really  Im getting wed on the 8th of August and our van is going to be a big part of the event and im just looking for ideas to make it look special, anyone had a wedding bus? any pics.
Im also desperate for a sliding door interior panel, ive given up on a matching one  ( greyish deluxe colour) Ive just got one of those mdf jobs, would it look ok covered in fablon or something, anyone got one maybe a different colour that I could paint.

Lola. Our wedding bus.
Will use her the rest of the summer then its a mild resto, trick interior, subtle lowering and some Fuchs.

How cool ... Just don't let the ushers get the keys!
My brother is getting married in October and wants to use our van as a wedding car so I'm going through a similar thought process.
At the mo' I've only come up with the obvious ribbons up the front, champagane and strawberries, flowers ...
I'll probably steer clear of cans rattling from the back - might leave a few unwanted dings!
Possibly a couple of tasteful banners in the back window like "just married", "don't come a knocking ..."
I'm thinking of getting a miniture vw camper cake made - my wifes chief bridesmade does wedding cakes and is pretty handy with the old icing!
I did wonder whether I could even make a small awning out of a gazebo and mosi-net.

Check out http://www.bluevinylweddings.co.uk/ryan.htm
I really like the fourth pic with the Bride and Groom in the foreground and the slightly out-of-focus camper in the background. It really gave a classy focus on the couple but with an obvious vw theme. Also pics from above with people mingleing look cool.

Ref the door card I'm currently cutting my own door cards from 3.6mm ply and covering in 2mm underlay and white vinyl (5quid a meter from eBay). Its pretty tricky cutting the ply to get eveything spot on but seems to be working ok. Stapling the vinyl round is no probs. I'm fitting the slider tomorrow - aaargh!
You might consider temporarily using the current card and covering in photos or a map of the uk ... the slider is probably the one you see least but could do something fun with it.

Anyhow - congrats and hope you have a beautiful bay! er sorry day!

Done this for some friends last year, ribbons, shampoo in the fridge, banners on the back etc, and confetti everywhere in side. Shame it was raining :?

I'm hopefully doing this on the 26th so I'll post some pictures up. My idea's were vinyl graphics ie Jim heart Sheila sort of thing. Can't do that now cos paint will be too new. So now thinking flowers on roof rack. All irrelevent if bodyshop don't sort car out b4 that and as it hasn't had final primer yet I reckon it may not be ready. Ribbons are a given, obviously

female version of the selbsters here! Could you collect some special photos of you both and place them under perspex for a new table top design?

Oh and I popped on flee bay and they sell red carpets for dirt cheap, taht could be quite fun, I'm going to buy one for my brother in law

Tip on mounting a ribbon, tie string or ribbon between the front bumper mounts to give the main ribbon a place to attach and then staple it so it doesn't slide!

We cheated and hired a stretch!

The camper was used as my transport to church and then to get bridesmaids back to the reception.

Cheers for the reply folks, some good suggestions and pics 8)
Mjknight71, cant see why a panel cant be posted, what you got in mind?

Did have an idea of turning our bus into a wedding hire van, repainting it white again and fitting a trick interior with a champagne bucket etc, the sunroof is a bonus too.

The only downside is the thought of breaking down on someones big day

..........my thinking was if it helps make the day having a grey panel on the door, you could borrow mine, as my bus wont be being 'used' during Aug

In the long run I'm not sure what I'm doing with the interior panels so i may be selling it anyway...I have 1/2 a grey set and 1/2 a beige and brown set.....was tempted to buy JK plain panels and cover them (but heard they crap) or maybe there was a link on here to a trimmers that sell full vinyl cover sets for £135 ( :?: )..any suggestions :?

.........................so anyway if helps make the bus for the big day you pay the postage and its yours for August

Thats real kind of you, thanks but Ive just bought some spray to paint the panel and my kids are going to 'decorate' it for me. Very nice of you to offer though and if you ever do decide to sell your panels let me know
