Just posted a few posts regarding oil leak, fuel leak....

Just thought I'd suss out other niggles before we go away camping next week!

The bumper, engine bay lid, tin ware, and even dipstick feel rather hot. this was after only driving around 20mins and going no faster than say 45mph!!

Didn't know whether its because its quite humid or is there a problem looming???

Its a 2 ltr engine just had a full rebuild with new heat exchangers, new oil cooler, new timing belt... Infact its had everything replaced!!!!

Any suggestions or am I just panic-ing over nothing?

Any suggestions welcomed

R

When I asked a similar question I was told that it was ok for the dip stick to be as hot as you can just about hold without burning you, which is pretty hot to be fair. My engine bay lid also gets rather warm and is the cause for my concern also but have have stuck to the dip stick test method without any probelms so far. I am not a mechanic, but this works for me

I guess you can hold it with out it burning flesh

Thanks for your theory, I guess ill get a better idea of heat etc the more i drive it !
