my altinators and packed up on my 69 micro bus 1600 sp engine. I've had a second hand one in my garage for years (can't even remember where i got it from) its a 55/70 amp altinator and wounder i could check to make sure its alright before fitting and rebuilding.
i think i saw somewhere about hooking it up to the battery and see if it spins, but that sounds like it might damage the altinator.
