Hi all,
I currently own a ’69 Bug but have now decided after spending the weekend at the Brighton Breeze in my parents T25 that I need a bay in my life!
Me and the Mrs had a fantastic weekend but we’ve both agreed that an early bay needs to be added to our growing collection.
Would prefer a tintop and we’re not too fussed about the condition inside as long as it’s fairly solid body wise.
Hope to speak to some of you soon. :D

Ello Nettles,,, like the name, where did that come from ???? This is really the only forum, if you`re talking earlies, and pretty much the only forum if you like friendly. Funny how the early bay seems to catch the imagination with a hint of reality and do-ability (made up word) so welcome and join in and ask all the questions you like, no one will say on here "do a search" or that was posted the day before last Friday or anything like that ;) It`s one of the few forums with no bad apples.

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,, Loves his earlybay fix ;)

Hi guys,

Nettles is an abbreviation of my surname and it’s been my nickname for as long as I can remember.
I’ve only been into the VeeDub scene for a short while and as I mentioned before I currently drive a ’69 Beetle.
I’ve always really been into my Fords but since joining the VW stable I discovered a different type of atmosphere with the events and shows I’ve attended.
I have friends that own bays and since spending the weekend at the Brighton Breeze, me and Mrs Nettles are deffo up for some early bay action!

We’ve set a budget of around 5K for a bay, so at the moment we’re window shopping to see what’s out there. I have no problem with repairing bodywork but I already have a few other projects on the go so we’re really after something that’s not too much of a project. We’re not worried about the interior, just the bodywork really.

We would prefer a tintop but we will consider others depending on the condition. Would also prefer RHD.

The site looks great and I hope to chat to you all soon.
:D

Hey Nettles,, we do a fair old bit of chattin on here  Especially when we is waiting for the Stella to run it`s course and then we can go to bed

Ozziedog,,,,,, Don`t actually touch the stuff meself ! ;)

You and Mrs Nettles have made the right choice :D

Don't be too hasty about which side the steering wheel is on though - you could spend many, many months searching for an elusive RHD where you could get an equally pretty (and probably more solid, ahem) import from across the pond :msn4:

what he says ^^^

A UK bus for that price will need a lot of work to get right, it may look good on the outside but will be patched/filled everywhere.

You can get a good US bus that will need minimal work for around the same price landed and delivered, i receommened it :)

Cheers for the replies. I have friends with both RHD and LHD bays and of course if a good solid LHD bay came up at the right price then I would deffo be interested.

Thanks for the advice. This is the third time we've considered buying a bay window camper, but this time it's going to happen!
I just wish we brought one last time we were window shopping a few years ago because the prices were a lot cheaper back then.
