Wow. My bus managed to beat me onto the forum. (on the right)
This is what it looks like these days.

Bit different!

Not done much with the van, did a music video shoot for the other half though.

(Yes, I'm the penguin on the left)

And when I wasn't driving my van, the red westy, the 1200 herald or being a penguin I was looking equally cool on this..

The things you do for love, or something like that.

The time has come for me to part company with Huey. Circumstances mean I need to move house and he unfortunately is a good lump of deposit.
£7499 or nearest offer.

Also as I am leaving the VW world for the foreseeable future I am including all the VW spares I have accumulated over the last 9 years as part of the sale.
ALL OF THE FOLLOWING PARTS ARE GOING WITH THE VAN, I'M NOT SELLING ANYTHING SEPARATE. SEE SOMETHING YOU LIKE? BUY THE VAN! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MINE MESSAGING ME TO SELL THE PARTS SEPARATE!
P1010633.jpg

Wide five deep dish rims. Not banded.
P1010634.jpg

Treasure chest lock handle and gasket - Hard to find, hard to hand over the cash for to receive so little. (Much the same as the locking engine lid handle I found!) I found and fitted a NOS treasure chest lock to the van and it has two keys, the lock cover/handle took me 5 years to find!
P1010637.jpg

1600 Beetle oil bath air filter, won't fit the van but getting harder to find and worth good money
P1010638.jpg

70s (judging by Jackie Stewart's hair!) chrome fog lamp
P1010639.jpg

P1010640.jpg

Window lifter mechanisms, I found some good second hand ones because the quality of the repros is so poor
P1010641.jpg

The case needs line boring, it was built by a muppet who didn't think to check the case for wear. As a result it contains a full set of unused bearings.
P1010642.jpg

I will also be including the original drop gates too.
If I find anything else VW related I will chuck it in with the van as part of the sale.

[/img]Sold at the weekend :( Although I think it will still be on the forum.

As for the rest of the fleet: Cube, Herald and Micra(s) have all gone. For the first time in nearly a decade I'm without a VW.
Current daily & camper is this:
1533798_10152335298212618_4476663045018043819_n.jpg

4wd, 2.5td manual, dual zone air con, electric pop roof, electric curtains, electric mirrors, central locking, electric soft close side door all for a grand, I really couldn't see the appeal of a T4!

So for the foreseeable future that is me done on the forum. As far as VW forums go this one does seem to have the most good advice, knowledge and the least amount of bellends.

Looking into the future if my other half gets her way my next project will be something with race numbers on it however I need to own a V8 at some point!

Nice one dooder, hopefully catch you around at some point, and good luck with your ventures  8)

Sad news Scotty. Must have been tough to see the pickup go.

Enjoy the Bongo adventures. It's really about getting out there and enjoying yourself and if you're happy doing it in a Mazda then more power to you. What's happened to the Tuesday night meet ups?

They might be resurrected! I've moved to the village next to Strongy and most other people seem to be based South of Lincoln so we might need to rethink venue.
It's classic night at the Woodcocks tonight (and every last Thursday of the month until Winter) so I'm still going to as many of them as possible.

Moved house using the veg oil burning beast and already started to knob about modifying it in the most tasteless way possible.

Im now the owner of this pickup. . And it has already been through some changes.
I shall start postings some pictures and updates soon with what I've been up to

Ok. . Bought it and had big plans

First plan was to rid it if the wooden gates and put the originals on. . Even though they are bent and distorted. . They still look loads better

Starting stripping it of the bumpers and clutter that was on it.
Also stripped the rats nest of wires

Had quite a few rust repairs to do.
Ive dug deep into the filler to get the the steel to rid it of the rust bubbles.. also needed a new sill as that was rotten as a pear along with the bottom of the passenger door.

Had to reshape the grille surround on the front panel as it didnt quite match the shape of the grille.

Spend hours shaping the drop gates and sanding them but still dented and bent but it'll have to be like that

Put a coat of high build spruzzo on.. so still in the middle of sanding it at present...

all the lowering parts are sat waiting to be put on..
spindles, narrowed beam, and horseshoe plates
So cant wait to slap them on once its painted

Nice work Dave. Glad to see someone has taken over Scotty's pickup and is giving it a tidy up. Keep it up buddy. :D

Looks like this is going to have a total change of guise

What colour will you be painting it ?
