Just wondering what distributors people are using.

I used to have a vacuum only dizzy which went bad ages ago and replaced it with a 009 (think mexican) and changed 30-PICT3 carb over to Brocar 34-PICT3 still have both.

Has anybody used an Accuspark, what are your thoughts? should this be run with a 34-Pict3?

I'd like to go back to stock 205T, have seen a few and the Bosch numbers vary last I saw ended in 029 even though VW number ended in 205T?? Thought the 205T should have a Bosch no ending in 035 or 036!

I've never used electronic ignition and have had no problems setting points gap regularly does it benefit?...
What are your recommendations for stock 1600 with either 30-3 or 34-3?

Cheers

Andy

Single or twin port?

For a twin port use the standard SVDA (combined Vac/Centrifugal advance) distributor. :)

Electronic ignition is only a reduction in maintenance needs. Depends how lazy you are. :)

Hey,

Single port.

So electronic ignition is purely for maintenance?
Do people still check/set their timing every 3000km service?
I can see if the points don't need servicing the timing shouldn't need changing either.

Cheers

I use an accuspark svda with a bocar 34 pict and it is miles better than the 009 I had previously. Like you I was looking for a 205T. I even got a second hand one, but then rather than worry about condensers and points gaps, i bought the accuspark and just fit and forget once timed.......
