Ignition barrel sticking

When starting the key isn't returning to the middle position so it sticks with the starter motor running, turning the key back to the middle position works fine. Is this something that's fixable or will i need a new barrel?

Is it the steering lock bit or the ignition switch that makes it spring back? I guess the spring.....

If I get a new switch can I alter it to keep the old key? On one key for everything at the minute and don't really want that to change

more likly the ign switch as thats the bit with the spring in it ,just fitted my 3rd in 18mths and dont use bus that much,pattern parts are s**t :msn4:

That sounds like the one then. Seen them on vwheritage for about £20, I guess they must be the crap ones. I use the bus daily so I might need a large stock of them :shock: Cheers for the info
