Ignition timing

HI all,

First post in a while as the van has been off the road having surgery for ages. Quick question - my engine is a stock 1800 aside from twin Dellorto DRLA36's. What do I set the ignition to?

I am told its between 8-10 before top dead centre. Is that about right?
