hi guys,

i think something is wrong with my ignition switch, it was changed yesterday and worked fine, went to start the van up tonight and it began to crank over and i accidentally let go of the key before it fired and now when i turn the key the ignition lights - light up but it doesnt even attempt to crank over is this a fault with the switch?

cheers in advance!

im so close to getting back out to play in it its ridiculous!!!

Could be few things bud.

Have you checked for a live at the switch? has a connection come loose? Starter connected properly, stuck solenoid??

i've checked the connections to the starter and there fine,

how i do i check the solenoid?

im not too sure where to check for a loose connection to the switch?

thanks!

Have someone turn the key and listen to your starter close up. If it clicks then gently tap the solenoid on the side of the starter and it should kick in.

Look at the rear of the switch and chase the cable form the column until you find a joint depending on how its been fitted. then check connections.

Also might be worth checking your fuses incase somethings linked to one of them!

checked the fuses and there all good,

tried tapping the solenoid and that hasn't worked,

the ignition switch is one from gsf are they known for being abit poo?

i've tried checking the cables but i havent got a clue what goes where!!
