If anyone gets offered a broken one, then have no fear, this guy at http://www.jdo1.com fixes and services them in double quick time for reasonable money.

:D

just what I've been looking for Clem, may be able to sort a non running EB clock that I've just acquired - thanks alot

I have now sent my clock off to John at JDO and will let you know how I get on :)

My first plan was to replace the movement with a later quartz type but keep the original face, which I thought was reasonable, but all the experts here told me it was no go.
So if anyone knows any different please let me know.
With the wonders of the www and postal services I might outsource the wee jobby to the northern hemisphere.
Might be a lot of trouble for 5 minutes a day though.

If there are firms out there that can put clocks into CD's, Dinner Plates and (dare I say it?) VW hubcaps - then I don't see why it would be so difficult?

;)

That was my line of thought as well, but it seems that the VW clock is a bit more exclusive in it's willingness to accept aftermarket quartz power.
But then again, we would expect nothing less eh?

Rikki gets a clock for £30 quid, I'll have a dose of what he stands in please, or is it cos he's Rikki or a sweet talker............................

I just got an email back from our man over there, John Ostic ([email protected])

and he has examined a clock the same as mine and he reckons he can't put a quartz movement in it either.
Looks like I'll have to get used to running on 23 hours and 55 minutes per day.

I'm all set to get another 3000kms cruising under my belt in the next couple of weeks.

David, that sounds like a great trip - it's amazing how how you guys have to travel for a show, I don't think there are many folks in the UK that would entertain the idea of such a trip just for a show!

Drive safely, and try to take some more pictures of BIG STUFF for us to look at!

;)

I would love a road trip like that for a show thats uber cool 8)

all those open roads beats the congested roads we have here in our tiny island.

Pics fella lots of :D

I'll take plenty for sure. I have been going slighty stir crazy seeing all the Bad Camberg, and Vanfest shows you boys have been enjoying, now I can lash out a bit.
Stay tuned.
David
