I beginning to wonder whether i have made a big mistake. I put these photos up on the site at the weekend and only ONE person bothered commenting on it. I thought it made my van look good. Clearly it doesn't or is this site is only for a clique?

I like it. Is it a Paris sunroof?
I have considered loosing my westy pop top for a sun roof as I prefer the look of a tin top (ducks and takes cover :lol: ) but can't quite summon the courage to leave originality behind.
Nice one.

Like it too and have considered doing the same to my pop top when the kids stop coming away with us. Looks like a good job

How funny is that ? Two or three or maybe even four or five weeks back, someone was debating whether to loose the pop top and do this, and at the same day as I read it, I`d been discussing doing this with Nick who does most of my Van work now (and getting to be a top notch mate) as we both are starting to dislike pop tops on our busses. I personally have had a long running love hate relationship with pop tops, starting with the first one that looked like a turtle humping the bus and had caused the gutters to rot out, followed by an early 70s Devon with the fibreglass shroud round it and the ribbed skirt / canvas but I never fitted it followed by a late 70s Devon top that I considered to be the most `Elegant ' of the pop tops. Any ways,, I`ve fitted it but never actually used it and I`m now starting to think along the same lines as you lot :roll: As far as reponses to the thread are concerned,,,,,,, sometimes there`s loads and sometimes there ain`t, today I been working local hence a half hour or so on the forum,,,, and sometimes I works away,, often for weeks at a time,, so no forum for me then :( But hey ho,, and your bus look pretty cool and may have made my mind up for me.

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Not one to change his mind then ,,,,,,,,,,,, much :lol: :roll: :lol:

Hi mate - think it looks great but the "links" in your very first post dont load as pics so people often just move on to the next post, I did until I clicked back and saw Superfunkyfresh has addressed these and the pics were visible.

Dont be disheartened - this is quite literally the least clicky forum I have ever been involved in.

Just remember to post the /IMG/ files next time so everyone can see the pics straight off.

I so very nearly did the same thing with my westy a year or so ago (I don't have it anymore), I really like these fabric sunroofs and perhaps I should have followed my own thoughts and not listened too much to others as I really like what you've done there fella..

I have a 'ragtop' bus too. Fair to say that last year wasn't great for getting the most out of it so here's hoping for a bit of Spring and Summer in 2013.... 8)

As StuF says, some of us can't be a***d to chase after pics that are not immediately visible, sorry. Having seen your conversion though, I really like it. Whilst it would not meet my own current needs, I can see the benefits and it does look VERY cool. Nice work. :D

Sorry for being an old grump. As many of you say there is a lot to look at.http://forum.earlybay.com/posting.php?mode=reply&f=1&t=49943#" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Thanks for all the great comments and hopefully this weekend i can use it!!

8) 8) Looks alot better than the pop top, mind you i am a little biased owning a Tin Top :lol:
Just a thought ,i always seem to bash my head when i put my jeans on in my bus so may be the pop top is a good idea :lol:
