IMPORT DUTY?

Hi

Just weighing up our options about a bay and wondered if anyone knew what import tax needs to be paid on one if you are bringing it in.
I have searched but havent found info on it.

Depends where you are bringing the bus from:

Europe - Nothing as long as duty has been paid in that country if its been imported.
USA - £50 Flat
South Africa - Varies on value of vehicle but expect a couple of hundred pounds.

Don't forget on top of the duty you will be charged VAT at 15% on the purchase price of the bus and an element of the shipping (usually based on a nominal $1000 if coming from the states).

Importing can be a bit of a minefield and in some cases not a lot cheaper by the time you have got the bus to the port, shipped it, paid UK handling charges and collected it from the port (Voice of experience!!) If you want more info PM me, happy to help,
