Is there a time limit as to when you must register your imported bus from the USA. I spoke to the DVLA and all they said was it must be done as soon as possible. My bus doesn't even have an engine at the moment and I need an MOT before I can do it?

Any idea, my shipper said he had never heard of a time limit?

Don't panic....so long as you have the relevant import paperwork and a valid mot they will register it. My bus was in the UK for 3 years before registration.

Hope not as had mine just over a year and still not done

Find out in acouple of weeks as going in for an mot!

had mine 4 years before it was ready for mot and registration.

Nothing to worry about, my mate bought a project bus from Karmann Konnection, they had the bus for over a year, then my mate spent 4 years restoring it and has only just got it registered 5 years after it entered the country.

I think I m right in saying pre April this year (so now) registering an imported vehicle is fine years after its been imported, but post April, it changes for fresh imports. I just looked on DVLA's site, but cant find anything about it, BUT, i have just registered my bus, and there was a leaflet explaining this.
So, short answer, you'll be fine if you imported it pre April this year, after that, its changed a bit, but I cant tell you how, sorry.
