Hi
Is it possible to replace the gearbox nosecone without removing it from the van? Anyone actually done this?
The bus is a 1970 RHD Australian import.
Thanks,
Elliott.

Why would you bother trying to?

The best thing about an early is the ease of dropping the engine! I don't even think it's possible to do it in situ. Even if it was you'd waste so much time struggling for access you'd be quicker dropping the engine anyway. You can easily do it single handed in 30 mins. When I first put the engine and box in my van I bolted them together and then fitted them as one unit, I'd imagine you could drop them the same way.

If in doubt, whip it out!

This only applies to early bay engines, don't go getting arrested and blaming it on me.
