Indicator stick/full beam help needed

Hi

My full beam is stuck on when I put my lights on and the indicator stick is not moving/clicking - up/down. It used to click on/off and the blue light would show on the dash. Now the blue light is on all the time. It feels that if I force it the stick will break.

I have had this off and with the whole indicator mechanism in my hand I still cannot get it to move/click.

Is this something that is fixable or is a new one needed? hopefully not the latter as I would prefer to avoid if possible given the wiring involved

If you look inside the switch you will see that when you pull back on the stalk it brings the two contacts together. If your stalk is not moving then either the contacts may have frozen together or the stalk and its return spring are stuck. Either fault may be fixable with a bit of wd40 and or tinkering and its worth giving it a try.

If on the other hand your stalk is moving and the contacts are opening and closing then its likely the relay that's at fault and needs replacing.
