I'm guessing it's something small, google pics suggests there may be some sort of casing around the switch mechanism itself, but can't be sure.

This is what I have. Housing:

And the issue when this lot is screwed together, the lever pulls too far through the housing, and wedges itself so can't be moved:

Something doesn't look quite right, hopefully someone can shed some light! :)

You appear to have the 211-953-515E housing, and a switch made to fit in a -D or earlier version. The difference is in the length of the
boss under the screw mount points. Your switch also appears to be askew, and I'll bet it's because you don't have the proper length M4 mounting
screws and one of them is jamming up on the switch internals.

Ah, now that is interesting. Was it an age thing when the switch / housing got changed - mine is a 1970 so would be good to know which part is original and which isn't?

Sorry, switch was at an angle in the pic because I hadn't finished screwing it all back together. It all works ok, but only if the screws are left a bit loose. Could be a combination of arm hitting housing and screws hitting mechanism.

The history of the various versions of the bus indicator switch is not clear to me, and some parts lists I have seem to indicate
that a single year's production could have different P/N versions of the switch. My impression is that the -E version of the housing
(with the short bosses) was used with the somewhat larger mechanisms introduced in '72 (or possibly mid-'71).

I have used earlier switches in the -E housing by using short (~5 mm) spacers between the switch and the housing mounts. The stock
mounting screws for the earlier switches I have at hand are M4x0.7x12 filister-head, and they fit nicely into the counterbores of the
switch housing.
