Anyone know what the black hook bit is on the right of this picture? Also, the trigger on the outside doesn't seem to return properly any ideas on that one? Other than giving all the lock internals a good spray with wd40 is there Any other maintenance jobs I should be looking at.

Part of the plastic cover that goes over the lock mech.
The purpose of which is to protect the lock mechanism from some of the water ingress from the scraper.
I didn't fit them when I rebuilt my cab doors
