Is there anywhere in the South Wales/ Midlands area that restores interiors. I am quite happy with the cupboards etc I have but some of them are looking a bit tatty and need sprucing up. Everywhere I look however only seem to build instead of restore.

Cheers Craig

What needs doing? got any pics of the work you need looking at? I may be able to point you in the right direction 8)

Hi Craig

Mine is booked in with Airteriors shortly to have a bespoke interior made, if my understanding is correct he does do refurb to, they advertise on here so maybe worth dropping them a mail or giving Nick at call ?

Hi Easy,

It's a Westy Helsinki 71. The interior is a bit tatty but worth restoring I think.

Nice interior, although I don't think its a helsinki as that was later on in the dark wood.

It looks like a rarely seen "houston" version which is almost the UK spec later "continental" but in LHD and earlier wood, is your bus a euro delivery model or M coded for the US ?

Well worth restoring 8)

The madrid was similar but with the 3/4 bed

Defo worth restoring! give it a crack yourself! give it a good clean up and then see what actually needs doing. You can buy replacement veneer from some companies (i dont know which im afraid) there are a few people on here who have done it, seems straight forward enough 8)

+1 for the diy route, like easy says I'm sure it will look a lot better after you have gone at it with the Mr Sheen.

From the photo's it just looks a bit grubby and a few of the panels need fixing. You can even buy iron-on or self adhesive veneer these days just google 'self adhesive veneer' and take your pic, unless anyone here can recommend a supplier.

I bet with a bit of elbow grease you will have a mint interior. I wish I did.

Place called camperinteriors is good for rubber edge trims, catches etc too:

(Website is a bit clunky but bear with it as there's loads of handy stuff on there!)

Thanks for all the advice. It's definitely convinced me to keep it and have a go at restoring it. Will post the final pics of the van with the interior installed when complete. I'll hopefully get it to a show this year :D

Saw this company at the vowo show. They seem to be a good source of Westy stuff, have things I had read were hard to come by...
