I've noticed recently that the clutch release and biting point is when the pedal is very close to the floor.

This makes gearchanging occasionaly not as smooth (?) as it was.

The clutch doesn't slip even when given the full beans my standard 1600 twin port can muster.

Do you think the clutch is on the way out or is this an adjustment issue ?.

I believe there is some adjustment via the wing nut at the gearbox end of the cable but i'm not even sure if I should wind it in or out a bit.

Any advice or observations gratefuly recieved.

Thanks

Wind it in a bit first but use some mole grips its a pain to get hold of the wire and the butterfly nut but that should sort your prob :)

Agree with last reply,,, its only kippered when you are no longer able to wind it in a bit more, if it fails in a big way ( oil on it, or friction surface breaks up,,,, you will know, I have had both these things ) over time both the friction surface will wear down, & the cable can stretch, so adjustment is maintainance.

Thanks guys; I will give this a try.

I'm only glad its not necessarily new clutch time ;)
