The article pre-amble by Mike Pye is shocking. He spends half a page explaining how he doent 'get' buses in general, and its a only a minority that are any cop.

Shame they couldnt find someone with genuine enthusiam to write it.

4.3 inch dropped spindels from Slammedpanel.com

GR. John

whats the ride like? does it bottom out/rub arches, or have you a narrowed beam?

sorry for the Qs i was looking at this option but not sure about the ride.

Hi Johnny

The ride is good like original, i have red Koni shock absorbers from a Saab. Front.
The beam is stock with adjusters and hits the street sometimes.
And then the tyres rub the arches.(tyres 165x50x15 on 6 inch Fuchs)
Hope i helped you.

Stil got no VolksWorld!!!

Gr. John

yep john thanks, i guessed your dropped more than 4" on the front for it to rub.

Sorry you didn't like the pre-amble.

I sit opposite him at work and Mike makes no bones about it - most Bays fail to float his boat - that's just his opinion and that's what he always gives - that's his style of writing.

It's the same way as I see beach buggies or rat rod Beetles. They do absolutely nothing for me and I see them as a waste of a good Beetle...

That's just my opinion and I'll live by it until something comes along to change it.

He'll be the first to admit though that this Bus really went along way to changing his opinon when he saw it at the Bug-in.

All I can say is prove him wrong. Send me some pics of YOUR Buses and I'll get them in Camper&Bus.

nederbug - Jon told me he emailed you to get an address to send some copies of the magazine to.

If you haven't replied to him, send it to me at:

[email protected] and I'll get some sent out to you.

Thanks

Hi James. We met at RTTS this year, you spotted mine and my mates early Westies in the show. :)

I hear what your saying, just thought that when there are real bus heads on the team - yourself and Rikki for example - youd be better placed to write a fully appreciateive reveiw, whilst he (Mike Pye) could write about rods or buggys etc ....

Still, lets continue enjoying nederbugs happiness!

:)

i have to agree with clem that the feature doesnt do it justice. no mention that 2ltrs dont just slot into an earlybay, no details on the dropped spindles, slammedpanel ones are kinda groundbreaking.
just because a bay isnt "your thing" doesnt mean it isnt someone elses
shame really

Having met Mike in the past (and having bought a car of him) I can say he is one of the most genuine and nice people I've ever met. However if buses aren't his thing surely it would have made more sense to get one of the other writers with more of an interest in buses to write the article?

Oh well, I guess we should be happy an EB is getting featured and making the front cover is an awesome achievment. Nice one Nederbug. 8)
