Looking to buy myself a jack and axle stands. Because a bus sits so high, what height should I be looking at for the jack to go up to? See

My jack lifts up to about 55cm, that's plenty to get wheels well off the ground on a standard bus.

Thanks, seen this one at Halfords, lifts to 53cm and upto 2.5 tons. I assume 2cm difference won't matter?

Axle stands look good value as well.

I think that is the same jack as mine but the new version.

That type of axle stand isn't brilliant, they don't allow enough adjustment. http://www.toolstation.com/m/part.html?p=83498" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; , that type is better.

Interedting what you mention about the axle stands. I was going for the ones that you put the pins through as I thought they would be safer. Didn't give the adjustment a thought.

I don't think the safety is really an issue. The ratchet style lock into place with a mechanism where force increases with more load on the stand.
