I didn't get a jack with my van, what's the best one to go for ?

Thinking about compactness and weight.

Do you want a jack to travel with or one for the garage?
I have a bottle jack for the bus which works well in a pinch and a monster low profile SGS one for the garage

Bottle jacks are insanely unstable unless you are the levelest and smoothest of grounds, especially with the tiny pad area and foot print. If your jacking points are in good nick, and they should be of course ;) then a stock jack is better, or failing that, a scissor jack with a decent saddle on top that can be put under the front axle or rear spring plate.

Maybe something like this one?

I'm looking for a travel jack. I've got a great one for the garage. Ideally one that will go in the spare wheel arc at the rear when not needed.

Good question!

What does a stock bus Jack look like please? I don't think I have one either!

Oh, certainly don't have one of those - will keep my eyes peeled for one. Thanks Trikky, much obliged.

And I shall also always wear a suit when changing a wheel and keep my cuffs clean too...

Ps if you go to the samba - tech - manuals then you can download and print off an owners manual for the year of your bus :)

Are these a good option ?
