Jacking points and jacks

I have just received a new side step and about to fit but obviously it's fits into the jacking points.

What do you all do that have one these fitted? I still have the OG jack, so what's the best jack to get to use on a stock height van and where would be the best point to jack up?

You could perhaps get a bottle jack

I haven't got one of those side steps so I'm making assumptions on how they're fitted, but could you not just remove it to jack up the bus?

My step is bolted in with one bolt at each end - but I'd rather not have to remove it to use the standard JPs.
I've been carrying a scissor jack as I think it's easier to stow. Plus blocks of wood we carry for levelling.
Been OK up to now.

Standard VW Scissor Jack plus timber to spread weight for emergencies. At home a 4x4 trolley jack and axle stands every time.
