dear all

i would like to fit a leisure battery just to run lights, cool boxes and bits and bobs through my cig lighter while we are away as i am worried that my battery won't be man enough.

i have read FAO GRAZY - Leisure Battery/Split ChargePosted: Sun Mar 29, 2009 5:08 pm

i would like to try and wire it myself however i am still confused why do i need a second fuse box as i thought the leisure battery provided power to your orginal fuse box and the only thing that differs is the source of its power , the lesiure battery .

also what type of split and battery are people prefering???

thanks in advance

I have a second 063 (starter) battery installed with a relay, it has it's own 6 way fuse box
that I can run wires from if and when needed. So far I have my stereo, water pump and a cigarette
lighter socket but it will have lighting and maybe an inverter.

From some reading I got the impression some systems have power from; engine running - main battery, engine off - second battery
but I'm not sure this is the case...
