WD40 to clean it and beleive it or not, baby oil  , stop laughing but baby oil is used a lot to clean and protect stainless steel.

get a pic up but I'm assuming your talking about the heat tarnish from a slightly used box? in which case its there for the duration a good clean and as above oil ( baby, olive, veg) will remove sweat blemishes and general dirt and salt, but all you can really hope to do is tart it up and make it look like a desired feature personally I dont mind the band running around the centre of the box....

No band running round this box - it's a twin skinned turbo Thomas item. The header is quite heavily tarnished but I gave up trying to keep that clean. If you aren't happy with it van man let me know and I will refund you.

The tarnishing/discolouring is caused by heat - so if you clean it now, next time you drive it and the exhaust gets hot it will discolour again. I would have thought you woul dbe better off leaving it as it is. Or spend time with the Autosol and dont drive the van again once you have polished the exhast ;)

I may have mis-read this but it seem that you are a bit touchy, the thread started with a general enquiry about getting rid of tarnishing marks on an exhaust.

As I said in the PM's we had, "I am very happy with the exhaust and muffler". :D

Ta..
