Just took a few snaps of the engine in the Bay ive just picked up.....
Yeah I know its a mess.... engines is coming out soon so I'll clean it all up and paint soon.

Im missing tinware behind the engine. Is that specific early bay tin? my bus is a 72.

also, looks like a bug engine has been popped in. That front tinware is incorrect?

I know im missing the main valence (currently got a wanted add up) what else am I missing?

Cheers

This is were I get confused, my bus is an early 72, but has the small rear lights like a split.

Do I need early bay tin, crossover tin? As it's not there, I dont know what im looking for, any help/pictures as reference would be great.

No tin is under the cylinders, I can sort that tho easy... (stupidly i sold a load of that style cheap a month ago to clear some space)

Piece 23, is that the same as a twinport bug?

DLVA website tells me it was registered in Feb 72, Its a K plate

Its one of the last small rear lights before the crossover

It may have been registered in February 1972, but it came out of the factory way before that.
Look at the M plate on the nearside seat bulkhead, this will tell you when, where it was going, and how it left the factory.

I have piece 9 that came out of my 1970 early bay and it is spare.
Drop me a PM if you are interested

Nick

Hi - yes 23 is same as a twinport bug but you will still need extension plates (rivet or bolt on) - or you can try and find a twinport original (impossible ?) or I have a single port original (£50) which you could fashion the hole for the rear air scoop.

Good luck with the search :)

This should help
