Hi all, My MOT is due next week but I'm not going to use my bus now till next year. It's garaged all year round. My question is, can I delay the MOT if I Sorn the vehicle and keep it garaged till march/April next year? I'll keep it insured. Thanks

Yes, sorned vans don't have to have an mot.

I think it may be advisable to let your insurance company know exactly what you is doing, just in case the unthinkable happened and there was a claim on a vehicle with no mot.

Ozziedog,,,,,,, worth a phone call

Yes good idea I will do that also. Thanks for the advise gents much appreciated

Ok I've just called the insurance and they have confirmed that it's not a problem to keep it insured without an MOT and SORN. They said most classic vehicles are kept in storage at certain times of the year without MOTs etc. Thanks for the advice. Going to put the old girl to bed for the winter. 👍

Brilliant, wrap her up nicely and put some sort of moisture catches in there too. I've just started to notice a bit of mist appearing in my old Mercedes back window so it on its way.

Ozziedog,,,,, , why ain't it summer all the time ?
