The MOT & tax runs out at the end of march, and the bus wont be finished but I could get it ready with just front seats and belts and no pop top roof, will that be a problem ?

I don't see why it should be a problem - the only thing the tester might object to is sharp edges where your poptop should be - if so, get yourself some pipe lagging and tape it on.
I've always found most MOT testers to be fair and reasonable chaps - why not call in and have a friendly chat beforehand (if nothing else, it will lessen the shock when they see it for the first time!!).

Good luck with the MOT!!

;)

I thought about the sharp edges so I have already fitted some edge protector. Good point about mentioning it in advance though I could do that when booking it in.

Should be ok :)

On the morning of my first bus MOT, I managed to smash the windscreen, and had to go in without it.

I'm planning on taking the bug for its next MOT with no windows at all... I need to get a headliner fitted before fitting the windows and I need an MOT to be able to drive it to get the headliner fitted :D
