Well after being a dirty lurker on the site for far too long (my wife's description of me not my words !) I decided to pluck up the courage and post up some pictures of my van "Olive". We've had her for over 3 years now and plan on keeping her pretty stock. She's recently had some new doors fitted which I got from FBI in Swansea (cali imports with opening quarterlights, so me Sarah & the boys will benefit from some old school aircon in the summer :D ) and I could not recommend them highly enough, great service and prompt delivery. I got them sprayed to match and also had her sills sorted which had some rather large lumps of filler rather than her original german metal  . Plans for the future include an interior revamp by way of new seat covers, possibly doorcards and cushions as the kids would like to avoid four years of third degree burns from red hot vinyl in the summer! Anyway it feels great to finally take part in what I have seen to be such a friendly and welcoming forum :D

welcome to the forum you dirty lurker, cant believe you're been hiding this from us for 3 years
I used to have a Devon interior in my old bus, think its one of the best interiors to have. Its a lovely colour as well. There a few on this forum from your area.

keep up the good work on the bus and hope to see more posts from you now you,re blown your cover

Loving the colour and interior, bet your all having a blast. Glad you finally stepped out of the shadows and posted, its a great forum and real friendly. Looking forward to updates and new pictures, even if its just of places you go in the van!

Thanks Guys for the kind words. I have to say it feels good to come out of the shadows and share my van with you all. I am no longer a "lurker" although my wife is always complaining and asking "are you looking at your Camper Porn again ?"

I was at a local classic car show with the van and a few other VW owners this weekend in Poulton-Le-Fylde Lancashire where I live. I got a picture of my van in the local paper as myself and my eldest son Oliver had the town cryer come in for a cuppa to keep out of the rain

Highlight of the day was driving into the town square and getting congratulated by the Mayor and Mayoress for "such a splendid vehicle ". When I get time I'll get a picture or two posted up. 8)

Well done for finally stepping out of the closet ;)

That looks to be a very sweet look bus you have and I like the idea of keeping it as original as poss (please don't put alloys on and then lower it  )

Welcome aboard

Hi and welcome, nice looking van, I look forward to seeing it in the "flesh" at a show 8)

Thanks for the kind comments about the bus :D I can't believe you used to live in Poulton, it's definately a small world ! although I'm not from Poulton originally as technically I'm a Cod Ed

I've not updated my thread for some time as I've been a bit busy over the past few months so I thought I'd post again. I've had some wheels I got of Gadget blasted and powdercoated with some og hubcaps fitted. They really lift the van and I'm chuffed to bits with them. I'll be putting up my old wheels and hubcaps soon so PM me if you want them

Late last year I swapped my old seats and got hold of some really nice porsche seats and put them in. Now I've always kept things stock and to be honest I'll keep everything else stock on the old girl, but they've made such a difference sooo much more comfortable and supportive! It's funny as when I went to Dubfreeze this year I noticed loads of vans with similar seats I guess I'm on trend as they say.

Up next are the bumpers which are getting tatty at the ends and the bumper irons are shot too so that's next on the list. However I have the not so small matter of the MOT man next month so fingers crossed !!!!
