Thanks for all your advice dudes my son has now decided to leave the rot box save a bit more money and get something solid
He will be joining the site as soon as he gets one as he can't put any vehicle details in when registering.

He has made a wise choice,he may not have a bus yet but tell him to join EB anyway, there must be a way of joining even without vehicle details, this site is for all enthusiasts can any administrators advise on this.
Enjoy the search for a bus.

A wise decision.

Its best to leave something with that many problems to somebody who can weld and do bodywork etc. themselves. Paying somebody else all the hours required will prove expensive.

As everyone else has said: Buy a solid import bus!!

I kick myself every time I see a lovely solid import bus, with great panel gaps and no rotten bits, having spent thousands on rust repairs on mine. I could probabaly have bought two lovely OG US busses for what I've spent on mine, and it still won't be as good

i seen a 1975 bay for sale in camper and bus magazine, its got long mot, tax until sept , on the road, orange with black bumpers, poproof,.. new engine, the owner selling due to back injury/surgery...
i know its not earlybay but its good place to start..

Echo everything said above. That bus needs a new roof panel, and most of the roof subframe will be gone as well then the bottom looked a bit suspect, ok knacked,, and the middle looked to be saveable, but if the viewable stuff is that poor,, what`s it like underneath    That one looks well past it,, even for an Early Bay,, sad innit

Looks saveable, though depends how much it means to you and how much experience you have with a welder... I've found roof work really puts people off, so my bus with a rotten roof but fair chassis was a good buy for me. :)
