New early bay owner - advice needed please

Hello vw lovers I finally bought my first one and I love her. I'm trying to figure out how to get the fridge and sink working? She is 72/71 campmobile. Her electric hook up works but she has no leisure battery. Contemplating getting one but have been advised it's expensive so I'm wondering can I get water and sink to work without battery and also the fridge. The fridge seems to be more like a container made from Styrofoam how can this work? If any oft can help please drop me a line. Many thanks Kiki

Hiya Kiki,, sounds like it may be a cool box rather than a fridge, maybe . With the sink, is it a manual pump or electric ? If it`s a lecky one then you is gonna need a leisure battery when there is no hook up. Or you could do what I do and just take a large ish water container and use the water as you need it, I don`t use or have a sink, I just wipe with a kitchen roll or rinse, I also got a dishwasher, but that`s at home for when I come back. I have home clean and camping clean, two very different things :mrgreen:

LBs are not so expensive, you are looking at about £80 delivered for a 110ah from Tayna. The charge relay etc about £25 then wire and fuse box another £10.
As Oz says, sounds like a cool box rather than fridge and likely a manual pump for the water. Post pictures for good results ...

I thought the opposite of this was true, leisure batteries are also known as deep-cycle as they will support becoming totally drained and recharged. Any starting car battery I have had run flat has always been pretty knackered afterwards.......
