thanks mate.

as ever, real life is about genuine communication with others, and 'the internet' is just a place to stick quasi-cryptic bollocks that usually goes over everybody's head... agreed

i had a look on low bus yesterday... first thing i saw on there was a(nother) re-post of sled's suspension geometry 101.

now, i love sled... if you were web-savvy enough to be able to track visitors to webpages you'd discover my ISP following him through cyberspace... i've been enjoying his posts/work for a number of years. never met him, never will... but just the idea of him and his tarmac scraping ride is enough for me... and he's a good looking boy as well*... i know why there are people making their own *i hate sled* shirts

BUT... i've lost count of the amount of american websites i'm registered to dedicated to VW buses and the lowering thereof - and they're all the bloody same

the whole thing smacks of 'emperor's new clothes' to me... very low buses were news five years ago, and the odd build-up thread with genuinely different stuff is refreshing, but there are only so many ways to skin a cat... and lowering a bus is hardly rocket science is it ?

bottom line... i haven't got my own website (and when i do it will be dedicated to the design and construction of carnival floats styled as noah's ark - lowered buses are so last year  ) so i'm not in a position to criticise, but a little bit of gentle ribbing never hurt anybody did it

co-incidentally, the imaginary engineering company i set up over twenty years ago (see also the classified pages in volksworld) is called s.l.e.d. uncanny eh 8)

*left in the final draft despite obviously sounding, well, gay :|

let me have a minute of your time.

sit down, close your eyes, and think back to a time when the summers were hotter, the winters were snowier, and C&C music factory ruled the airwaves.

buses were either splitties, or bays... and bays were ****.

that's america now

and that website's american :|

they call bays 'fat chicks' over there... an expression i find so offensive i can barely muster the will to type these words... but i must... for the greater good of earlybay.com, although as you can see, there's no such thing over there... just '68-'79 buses :x

somebody go over there, post up the pictures of the ballz body drop bay, and the forum will implode within 24 hours.

FACT.

(or they'll just ignore it... one of the two)

Thanks dude, I've been around but there are SO many forums...and so little time.

OG ride height eh?
Not round these parts, but whatever presses your buttons is OK as long as it's in a bay!

*Pedant Mode*

I thought Type Three's were facelifted for the 1970 model year?

I wear the "Fat Chick" tag with pride.
I don't want to associated with anything anorexic or all straight lines.
Bay windows are all curves and gorgeous.

trouble is nowadays with me i'm too P.C.

i work with kids, EYPS, inclusivity, blah blah blah.

calling *anything* a "fat chick" in 2009 is unacceptable isn't it ?

i mean, my tongue's been in my cheek 99% of the time on this thread, but i'm right, aren't i

I did not say I did. And I do own an early type three along with A bay I do like them better that the splitties. Plus it is very hard to drive a split when you are 6'2" . Besides I work with kids also Allthough they menatly handicap adults. You are wright when you say it is wrong to call anything a fatchick, but being P.C. just gets everyones panties in a wad.

proof if ever it were needed that the VW 'scene' is singularly obsessed with pigeonholing... or do the other marques do it as well ?

do MKI escort forums have posts about 'fat chick' MKIIIs ?

splitscreen morris minor forums ?

austin (not BL) allegro forums ?
