Hi! New here.. from Arizona.
I have a 69 campmobile that my grandfather bought new in 69. I'm the 3rd driver.. And drove my beloved bus for almost 20 years! It's been in storage for almost 6 years now. I have her home now and anxious to get started on a restore! Having lived almost all it's life in the dry desert, she has zero rust, just a lot of dust! All the rubber is dried out but body is straight!
Any suggests, connects, or just comments very welcome! Can't wait for the build

Hey you lot, I`m afraid there`s not too many peeps about at the moment as there are some large shows on this weekend and they`ll all be getting ready for them and now they is actually there. I may even pop up to have a sneaky peeky later on today as I have the day off (BIG DEAL) Now from an English / UK perspective, that would be an interesting restoration, as you are actually starting off without rust  I`m not sure if that`s allowed  Looks to be a great bus for sure  The other bus belonging to Ovalivor and I`m guessing that`s Oval Ivor, well I had to look a few times as the colour was so different with the light / angle / shade I thought there were several, but another cracking bus on the forum is always a good thing, nice sedan by the way they look cool together .So welcome to you all and especially MOLLY TEA POT ?? Molly Tea Pot ???????? Whatever sort of name for a van is that then :?: Got to say it did make me chuckle and as far as what flavour bus floats your boat well that`s neither here nor there, For me it`s still the smiles per gallon and having a laugh, which your bus certainly did Emma  Now my bus is a boy, and your bus is a girl, do you think she`d fancy a bit of old rough then ??? As she is indeed very pretty

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Get that dog down NOW !!

Hi all, got a 69 project coming Thursday..will needs lots of work  Not my 1st erly bay had a '72 crossover years ago. Will post pics when it arrives ;)

Newbie here :D

Ive own "Katy" 72 low light, Dormy for about four years and been an infrequent user of the forum for about a year before poseing the first question (thanks Aaron for the repsonse).

In this time I've travelled in the Bus to Portugal, Spain, France and this year Holland and Germany (Wolfsburg) - some vantastic travelling made possible by a life changing purchase. Sure I've had some dark moments but you need those so the good ones are all the more unreal

Ever spent a whole day in a Spanish camp site with the whole fuse box sitting on your lap - only in a Dub

Great forum guys -

Hey sidecar! I'm in Tucson.. And yeah, can't wait together her back under her own power and on the road!! little progress today... Got the sliding door open today! Handle broke off from the outside years ago, (in locked position w the key) and just today found the mechanism that allowed me to unlock from outside. Why I didn't see before, is beyond me! But now I have full access to start taking stuff out! Good luck on your project as well! I'm addicted to this site now and will be here quite often !

one of my best friends is there, I'm in and out of Tucson a few times a year, usually March, maybe by next year the bus will be done enough for that trip,,,,,

Hi All

I am a completely new bus owner. Always wanted one, have scrimped and saved to allow myself on turning 40 to treat me and my family to Ruby. She is a 71 1600 petrol bay, red and cream with quite basic interior and we already love her. Got her last week and been out twice, however on her last trip she wasn't running well. :|

I think the term is "pinking", and I need to know how to sort her out. I know very little about engines however I am a heating engineer and want to learn as much as I can to enable me to keep her as sweet as possible. I am happy to get involved and dirty, whatever it takes and I am very keen to learn. I have booked myself on a course in Nov at a specialist but until then any help anyone could give us would be very gratefully received.

Generally she is in good condition as far as my little knowledge goes, I have found out that at the side of the carb there is two screws one large head and one small head directly underneath. As far as I can tell the larger one is "Speed" and the smaller one "mixture".

Could anyone tell me which one to adjust, by how much, which way (clockwise or anti-clockwise) and what the effect of this will be ?????

Is this a common problem ??

Have just joined this site and will post some pictures soon when I can work out how !!!

:p Kev, Jo and Immy x

Evening all, thought I would say hello and introduce myself.

Been a guest on here for years, spending more time on volkszone, but as I'm on the look out for an early bay, where better to be!!! Had a few dubs in the past, a 79 tin top Danbury, a 72 pop top Danbury, a 74 karmann cabriolet, a 67 splitty panel and now have a 89 mk1 golf GTi cabby  which is up for sale to part fund another bus. And as we now have two wee ones and a third on the way  I'm looking for a microbus to fit us all in 8)

Great site by the way, full of sweet rides. Can't wait to be rollin in a bus.

Laters

Time to get excited (well, for me anyway).

New bus coming tomorrow. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Meet Elvis (named by the guy i'm buying it from because of its Elvis lip like front bumper ;) )

Its a Velvet Green 69 deluxe from the good ol' US of A, and i'll be running it a lot lower ( gradually as funds allow) in it's original paint. Not decided on rims but thinking either black steels or matt black empi 5's.

Not sure on the roof rack but could do with keeping it as the bus will be left as a microbus so we'll be carrying camping gear every where we travel as well as me, the wife and three kids.

Hi all just wanted to say hello...my names Rog and I got a 69/70 Danbury but not original interior...you could say bespoke...lol...thanks for the site..

I had a type 25 camper for 7 weeks before i found my early bay and i couldnt resist it. have some work to do though as im sure most on this forum do. the interior especially as there is only a rock and roll bed the rest is a blank for me to make good for the summer. heres hopeing anyway. i stay in fife Scotland if there is any of you near give me a shout sometime.

Thought i'd register rather than lurk around in the for sale area.

I'm possibly in the market for a bay window. been told by the mrs that as we have a 2nd nipper due in Feb that if I want more than two weekends away next year I need to take Harvey who will be three by June next year.

I've got a couple of Type 3's at the moment, a 71 ozzy import Fasty and a 63 Square in resto. Seems that if i'm going to be hauling the little guy around as well it's perhaps time to weigh in and get myself a bus.

So here I am, having a nose about trying to learn a little more about them. I've got some pals that have them so know a few things but you can never know too much eh.

Undecided yet whether to get something that needs work or something ready to roll in...but seeing as I already have a full resto on the go i'm swaying towards the latter.

That's me.

Si
