Okay me in my wisdom encouraged my husband to rip out the existing interior and put it back to the original. Snag is we havent a clue what we are doing! I think I will be in the perverbial dog house if I dont come up with an ingenious plan!

Anyone know how to fit a table runner into an early bay camper?

I'm Sure its going to be less complicated than we think!
Heres a picture of where we want it to go, are the bracket looking thingys a good place to put the rail on?

the bracket look perfect as they are definitely the right height and forward position for a table! what conversion are you doing?

My devon had a flat peice of thin plate screwed in between the box sections about 3" tall and a block of wood atttached to that (about the same place as your brackets) then the aluminium guide rail was fitted after the interior panel was fitted.

i will try to take some pics but my van is loaded with parts and its pissing down atm.

Johnny, your a legend! We are doing a devon like yours. Pics would be fab if poss! I love this web site! woo woo woo!

my van is stuffed with parts as im moving it soon but those two holes are for the rail for the devon table to slot into. they look the perfect height and width to fit. I posted pics of the table here somewhere ill find them for you.

Johnny - You really are the Devon guru ... your names pops up everywhere!

I've been looking closer and I wonder (in an out-loud kind of way) whether these brackets might originally have been for a bench seat and possibly the van had another life as a mini-bus before being converted.
There are definitely some plates on the floor with key hole slots that look like they would tally with bench seat legs.

I've been trawling the gallery's and my only thought is that the table appears to go a little higher and should be closer to the back bench. Basially from the window pillar.
I'm thinking of putting some 9mm ply from these brackets over to the pillar to screw the table runner onto.
Although I don't know how it will work with the door cards and whether it will push them forward.
If I'm gentle with it I might even screw the runner through the card onto a loose sheet of 9mm ply as I'm making the cards out of 3.6mm ply anyhow (JK have a two month lead time on their door card sets!).

Hmmm ... I'll have a look tomorrow in the light.
Friday's the big day off to get as much done as I can!

Cheers for all your advice and if you do happen to have a pick of whats behind your cards that would be awesome!

on reflection i think you could be right  . I cant get in to see mine at the moment as theres a ton of parts including gearboxes and wheels piled high in mine as im waiting on the word to move the van to its new home, so sorry i can take pics for you but my fixings are further back and i dont have those two brackets..... sorry.
