Over the summer hols have decided to try and get my MG going, not been started for 10 years, all work was carried out and repaired b4 it came of the road, it has been dry stored for 90% of the time, and when not it has been under a cover.

My main question is what do i need to look out for and do to get it started for its first time, i have been out there today and turned it over by hand and all of the tappets go up and down.

pull the main lead of the dizzy and crank it a few times to get the oil pressure up and around the engine.
clean the old fuel out of the carb and use new fuel, claen the plugs and then try to fire it up.
you may spring a leak at some point as the oil seals can go brittle
good luck
