changed the seals on the pump,thought i was being clever every thing going fine,
until one of the nuts chewed the thread off the stud,Bastard only just got the bloody thing
back from having a case saver fitted, :evil: now what do i do....

either buy a stud puller (it doesnt actually pull) or whip it straight back should only take them a minute to remove and refit a new one....

if you have a die set you could try recutting the thread. If its too bad then the only option is a new stud.
If you cant lock two nuts together to wind it out cut a slot in the end and try to turn out with a screw driver.
 
if you need more leverage to remove it, you could file two flats on it, and remove it with a spanner.
 
cheers chaps, done the one i f..ked up yesterday,put new stud in ,put back together
done the nuts up and messed another one up pissed wright off

Just use a normal nut with a spring washer, has the same effect as a nyloc or torque prevailing nut! ;)

i thought,was told ,that they stop the oil comein up the thread,speacial nut
