Fancy fitting a temp guage,done a search but no real answer on this :?
I`ve bought a sender to fit pressure relief valve bung,my van has dual relief twin port fitted,
Which bung should i swap for sender unit for most accurate/best reading.
(seem to think one is pressure relief,one pressure control :?: )

Temperature wise it wont make much difference which bung you use since the engine oil temperature will be much the same at both locations.

The only variations you will get is from external scources. The flywheel end will read slightly cooler and the pulley end slightly hotter due to air flow, though I doubt the gauge will be accurate enough to show it. :lol:

Most people seem to use the pulley end for ease of the wiring run.

Thanks for that info :D
Am i right in thinking pulley end is pressure relief,flywheel end pressure control ?

Just want to keep an eye on things as i`m running non-standard wheel & tyre combo which alters revs per mile,gonna fit a rev counter & temp guage just to see what effect different cruising speed & outside temp has on oil/engine temperature :idea:
I have read the various opinions on the accuracy of temp guages & whether its actually worth fitting one :|

I can't remember which is which but mine is fitted at the pulley end. My engine is a 2109cc and is just over 180 degrees faranheit at it's hottest if that's any use!!!

Yeah,thanks :)
I`m going to use same location,mines only a standard 1600 twin port but it will be nice to have an idea if i`m overdoing it with the right foot :p

I just noticed that cotswoldiver has one of these for sale for £20 posted http://www.machine7.com/product.php?xProd=3247" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It's the same guage that I use!
