WOW! a proper job man,

A lot of people would have just cruised the bus as a tidy looking red and white camper

The paint on the bumper looks sweet!! is that going on the roof as well or the whole bus?

No, the orange is going all the way up to the roof gutter, and the actual roof is going Ford Diamond White (colour of the Series 1 RS's) and I am going to have something rather special airbrushed onto the roof in the orange......sounds kinda out there but you'll see what I mean once its done....hopefully!

Not posted for a while and been mega-busy with our massive olympics contract last summer as well as the ongoing U.S. Housing project but finally getting back on track with the Bay so thought you might like to see a few pics as she goes to paint!!!!

Shuts and interior done....

Its coming on.... the first base coat goes on the exterior tomorrow!
Still need a couple of bits proving a pain to locate. I desperately need a good condition front grill but NOT CHROMED as I dont have time to strip off and hope for no reaction especially with a 3-stage pearl paint......

Just awaiting the Rag-Top sunroof and then the orange "roof scripting" then its crack on with the interior, engine thats been sitting there for over a year and a half waiting to go in, dropped suspension...... ROCK ON THIS SUMMER!

Good to see your getting there. I remember you exploring the 17" route the same time as I was considering it.

Well I'm still not finished but I've gone for 17's. hopefully finished this year too. Keep us up to date

Cheers

Think I would still like the 17@s to be fair mate however I also want it narrowed and dropped so I may have to totally compromise there.... I change my mind about the wheels almost daily at the moment! ha ha.

Will make a decision next month as it starts being reassembled with all the new bits......

I LOVE that colour!!!

Yeah when the light catches it there are a multitude of attacks on the senses! The pearl, the metalic flake, its pure awesome. BUT it will only get more attractive as the build is complete and it has something to contrast against!

I dunno what the clearance is like between exhaust and valance but there was one of them monza 4 tips on my crewie when I bought it and the box had burnt all the paint off the valance. I'm sure that's only on as a temp measure but thought I'd mention it. It would be a shame to ruin that lovely new paint ;)
I also think 17's would suit this bus given its colour. Full chrome 17" Fuchs ftw 8)

FOOK the Monza thats coming STRAIGHT OFF.... Awful exhaust, runs the engine hot, sounds naff... no no no.
I already have a nice glasspack to go on, but there was no point putting it on until after the paint job and engine swap

I am still torn over the 17's. I want to go fairly low but without tubbing so I'm guessing 15's would be the way forward.... I have already spent a whole heap on this van so I really could do without all the extra mods needed to run it low on 17's to be honest.......

I was thinking about the extra work involved as I was writing

Loving your siggy...............what is she holding?.........oh look, there's a bare metal split crewcab in that picture too......only just noticed

............a few more pics from the weekend as I picked it up from the paint booth........It is now sitting at my workshop awaiting some reassembly.

Picked up some awesome rims today for it.... Torque Thrusts BUT finished in black.....

.... Loved the polished dish lip, something not seen on too many Early Bays and decided to keep with the theme of black against the orange..... for the modern twist to a classic rim.....

Suspension will be a significant drop but not so low that it needs tubbing.... Not the look I'm going for. Save that for the cool rats... I'm going for a modern twist on all the things we love to do to our cans.... Rims, lowering, interiors..... Slightly narrowing though up front.

Aiming to launch it at Bug Jam if poss!
