Just trying to get some quotes on my camper and I think I might be doing something dumb - can't find a VW transporter/T2/Camper anywhere in the list of vehicles? Don't know the reg so have to choose from a list and nothing that matches the bay at all?

Also...how many doors on the V5? I'm thinking 3 but not sure if the hatch counts for another one :?

cheers,

Larry

Not sure what companys your trying but most companys wont insure any vehicle over 25 years old, so thats all early bays,
You might be better off trying the usual suspects, sureterm - adrian flux etc.
Try a search as insurance company threads come up quite often

cheers - had a quick search and saw a few discussions about moneysupermarket and gocompare on here linking through to HIC so thought I'd give it a go (as I'm lazy and like the one click mutli quotes) - but reckon they all use the same car database - think I'll give a few of the classic specialists an old fashioned phone call on Monday

Thanks,

Larry

Hi, i use Heritage, got 5000 limited milege with breakdown cover including europe and some other bits and bobs,
agreed value etc, £199. Used Lancaster last year, bit cheaper but no breakdown. Try These then let the insurance companys fight for your business, and they will, hope this helps, Col.

You'd probably need a specialist insurer....I used to be with HIC which was fine and very cheap, but am now with Peter Best Insurance and have a 22yr old insured on the van....no one else would do it! (Not had any claims...touch wood...but it seems a good company to go with.) :D

Cheers - I'll try them tomorrow - I gave Adrian flux a call and it's £240 fully comp with ncb (I'm 32!) which is a bit on the dear side IMO - tried hic and they say they are the same company as flux which I didn't know!

Try RH Specialist Insurance. I have got all my old cars with them. My Dormy originally cost me £96 last year but now has dropped down to £68 including full european breakdown cover!!! I think this is because of now being over 40 years old (the VW that is ) and only £50 excess.

I had to claim earlier this year with my vintage Austin and they were so helpful and nothing was too much effort.

I hope this helps
