I've noticed that the rubber is almost non existent on my 71 westy outer door windows, when replacing this am I correct in thinking that you have to purchase the whole chrome surround etc and it's not just a case of replacing the rubber?

Also can this be done as a stand alone job or does anything have to be removed first such as the window glass, quarterlight etc ?

Hi Bobster, After I had taken my old ones out assuming the whole lot was a single replacement, I found a site that just does the outer rubber. Can't remember who it was though :lol: , but it could be Status?
Good luck.

Regards, Si

Yep, Status ( now part of Just Kampers ) do or at least did outer scrapers seperately.

Keep putting mine off ( I now I shouldnt ) but heard its a bitch of a job!

Cheers Si, I'll check that out !

It is quite hard, taking out the quarter light. Then you need to drill out the rivets on the outer scrapper and re rivet the new one on. I bought the scrapper rubbers from custom and commercial. But if doing it again I would buy the whole surround.

Here is a how too: http://www.ratwell.com/technical/CabDoor.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Good luck!
