Up for sale is a straight and dry 71 Deluxe sunroof van. The compression Test from May-4-2011 reads in this order, 150, 150, 135, 125. Idles fine, sounds like a good engine. Clutch could use an adjustment? as it feels low?.
Paint appears to be original on roof, passenger side, driver door and large driver side panel. The green has been resprayed on rear driver corner, back hatch and engine lid, both corners and the front nose. Rear battery tray and other corner tray look solid? Front drivers floor has fiberglass on it, but pics from underneath only shows 2 holes, I'd remove the fiberglass and patch the 2 small holes, fiberglass looks bad but does not appear to be that bad at all.
Body is straight with small dings but overall a nice dry body. Front windshield area has some very minor bubbles/see pics. Nice rockers and wheel wells and jack points etc. nice roof lines and around windows on sides. There are a few small holes along the top of the roof near the sliding sunroof, minor but will need to be spot welded to protect the interior.
You can still see the sliding door handle factory script if you look very, very, very closely. Nice Deluxe trim all the way around. Nice newer tires.
Sunroof has a broken handle and appears broken cable.
I have a rear and middle seat if interested for $200, no brackets to fasten down.
Original VW manual and first service booklet with multiple service history stamps. Other history/reciepts and VW stock booklets dating back to 1975, I'll add pics later of these.
Rear floor is solid.
Included are the 2 cool vintage soda/beer cooler/icebox from the 50's and cool Coleman water tank.
Haven't checked keys and locks yet.
She's a great year, great model and she's a great canidate for full resto or to make a cool driver.
3800 Pounds gets her delivered to Thamesport, or I can have delivered to Derbyshire for 300 extra but you could save in other areas.
