Does anyone know if its possible to buy old style personal number plates? I have had a look on the internet but cant find anything.

I'd ideally like to keep the year reference 'F' at the end but it would be ace if i could get 'BAM' as the first three letters?

Thanks.

HAD A GOOD ONE COME IN FOR MOT,would be good for restorer T2ROT,well a late bay restorer------------- :msn4:

Hi
IF you email DVLA personalised registration's with what you want, they will put it up for auction as it is what they call a requested plate. :D
However, that doesnt mean you get it, as they kindly put one up for auction for myself but it went for a fortune!!
Hope this helps
Cheers N

Nice one thanks.

I had searched google but only seemed to be able to find new style ones. I'll have a harder look.

Someone really should start a website that sells just old style ones for car enthusiasts... think i've spotted a niche!

Had the same thing happen to me, request for NUG 5Y to be released about 3 times, it did in the end and my dad went to bid (not for me) but dropped out when it got to around 2k. Think it finally went for about 4k when that famousish footballer Nugent (surname) was playing :( :( :(

I once sew the registration DAM14N for sale in the back of a newspaper. my name is Damian thought it would be expensive but not £95000. The woman I spoke with said you can make a close offer if you want

Generally classic vehicle owners like to retain the vehicles original number I think.

Tippers vintage plates make old style number plates, I've got pair in the sale of 64 CYH, they cost £125 if want the look. They do look quality...

I nearly bought CHR15 about 21 years ago, it was only a few grand then, **** knows what it would cost these days!
