Same colour as the body, or failing that white to reflect the light when working in there

Cheers guys, some real nice engine bays there..

Think I'll keep it a light colour. I put some hard-nose paint down which is supposed to be 'light grey' but it has come out almost white.. Couldn't decide if I liked it, might put a gloss coat down and go from there... :party0009:

........What material do you have on the deck?

Uh-oh............I think this may be a case of confusion due to a common langauge. Being a Statesider I am not familiar with "deck" in the manner you are using the word? Could you help this Yank understand the Queen's English?

Ah... me being a Dutchie i may have it wrong, but i mean the material that is above the engine.

Gotcha! I replaced the original hardboard with holes with a more effective (and less combustible) insulator and sound deadener. This stuff is "sandwich of aluminum faced insulation and a backing of mylar bubbled insulation. Both materials were ultra cheap at my local home improvement store. The sections were cut to fit in the roof spaces and then taped around the seams with aluminum tape. Very lightweight, non flammable/heat resistant, and fits neatly in place in the engine compartment ceiling with the clips already there.

That is a pretty much stock 1600 singleport. OEM equipment for a 1970 Bus. The only visible items not strictly stock are the distributor (which is an SVDA) and the fuel pump. I'm working on changing both of those over to the original. And not visible............ the fanshroud is a doghouse for better cooling back at Number Three.

Just some primer after some welds (late bay gearbox brace), but something missing?
