Hello,

I'm working on my bay, replacing both sides sills.
I was wondering how I can protect these against the first possible rust?

Can I use waxoyl for this job ? Are there any other products to protect them?

On the outside, can I simply use por15 or something? I will paint them with epoxy first.

Thanks

there are a number of similar cavity products take a look at http://www.rust.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; or there is the Bilthammer products. I've been using the Bilthammer stuff myself in the cavities, bottom of doors etc, but only from an aerosol.

There should be 2 plugs at the front and one at the rear, you would need a long probe - 5 foot - to get the waxoyl to the back

There are more points along the sill to get in Adey. Cavity map on this thread. http://forum.earlybay.com/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=31729&p=268250&hilit=cavity+diagram#p268250" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

2' nozzle works a treat. I used this and was very impressed. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4-x-DINITROL-ML-PENETRATOR-RUST-PROOFING-CAVITY-WAX-500ml-AEROSOL-EXTENSION-/320923093883?pt=UK_Body_Shop_Supplies_Paint&hash=item4ab881cb7b" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

More viscose then waxoyl and the 2' extention nozzle works a treat. 4 cans should be enough for the entire bus.

Dinitrol for me too, very impressed with it. Maybe stonechip the outside too.

Hi Chris guess what I've got a MOT :party0046: , 4 cans! I've used a gallon of waxoyl already I wondered why it keeps dripping, I need to take it for a spin to warm it up and leave it on someones drives to do its business! I had a look for the 2 points you mentioned but can't see them do you mean the 3 drain points or are there some behind the sills - in which case I have belly pans so can't see them?

Congrats Adey. Now post some pics you slacker. ;)

Yes I mean't the drain holes. The extension hose with the Dinitrol pack above fits in the drain holes to get all along the sill. I think I had to drill a hole or 2 under the front sill behind the bumper. It will keep dripping for a while I'm afraid.

Guys,
Thanks for replying, but what i really need is a product that prevents corrosion on my new sills.
I do not need a product that stops rust (because there is no rust) i need a product that protects the new metal. Or have these products the same function?
Thanks
