My Bus has lovely patina and i would like to keep it that way. Its had a full underbody wax oil. But what the rest of the bus?

Whats best? Heard Ankor wax is good or collinide wax i think T2D do a special Patina wax or should i just spray it with some Laquor?

Any other thoughts

P.s first person to say 'Paint' will get a slap

I've browsed the bike forums for the same information but never found anything satisfactory. I have a collection of old bikes which have 70 year old decals on the frame and need to preserve them...will keep an eye on this thread.

Not a fan of lacquered patina. Heard good reviews about Ankor wax. Nothing wrong with just a good rub of Collinite or similar.

I used Matt lacquer on the wife's ghia and it works great and looks like it never been lacquered

Hope this pic helps

have used anchor wax for ages, not a fan too much hassle, it works though but turns ya patina a dark brown, id go back to using wd 40 or the like on the rust, or plain oil and wax the rest, nice car car wax works a treat also. and you can wash it easier, once you start on anchor wax you end up a mr miagy, wax on wax off.
if you do the whole bus as we did then we were having to strip it once a year, used to clean the bus with oil, not water, pain in the arse. worked though.

Cheers I guess a bit of trail and error will have to be employed to see what suits my bus best.

I've just done mine using a collinite wax - good enough to protect watercraft, so I figure it's good enough to protect my patina... no noticeable colour change either...

Collinite 476 is the one I have used..

This is all good as I am a fan of leaving my paint dull even though it has had a respray from a previous owner. But ... which paint is used to match the dullness, more than the colour itself, where metal has been replaced?
