Hello...

Looking for a few pointers to see if this is something your amateur mechanic can sort easily, or a trip to the garage.

My bus has had a slight pull to one side when braking ever since I got it. Tbh I've not noticed it that much but it had been noted on my mot's. Just last week had the servo/master cylinder replaced and I can def feel it pulling now.

It was a rush job getting the bus sorted at the garage as was heading away in her that night and to give them their due, they did mention it.

Any ideas on where to start?

Cheers
Craig

Do you have drums all round or disks?
Sounds like one of the brakes is a little more adjusted than the other. Simple to do on drums using the star adjusters

Slacken front wheel bolts
Jack vehicle up
Axel stand the front
Remove wheels
Adjust the two star wheels in each of the drums until both are dragging the same
Back each off equally till there no drag

Repeat on the rear paying attention to the handbrake adjustment too and they should all be balanced

If you have drum brakes it could be a sticking cylinder, or with discs could be a sticking caliper. It could also be a flexi hose which is either blocked or beginning to collapse internally.

 ^^^ guessing it's a 71with Early discs, first suspects would be sticky / dirty calliper housing as it's a free bee check. Then a flexi hose check with both front wheels off the ground make sure that both wheels are instantly releasing and free after braking. Check both tyres are the same and air pressure. When you have it jacked, swop the wheels around just as a test. And last but not least, check the components, maybe someone sometime somewhere just changed one disc or one calliper or one set of pads, really compare because that could be all the difference.

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,, so how do I know

Thanks all. Yes ozziedog, 71 early with discs. Seems plenty of easy checks to keep me going [emoji6]
