When I first use my van after a day or two of no use the brakes pull quite severly to the left. After about 5 mins of driving and braking it all seems OK. I have drums all round, is it likely to be a cylinder sticking? should I just replace it or check other things first.

Thanks
Eden

pull drums and clean out dust etc make sure cyls are free and adjusters, clean linings and drums with 80grit (got some for rubbing down filler :?:  )when you readjust drums wind out till drum locked, one adjuster at a time tap face of drum with hammer or press hard on brake to settle shoes then back of till drum rotates freely ,do all the same ,of couse if you have discs check all pads ond pistons are free, also how old are brake hoses can cause imbalance when starting to brake down and check tyres.

First replace both your front flexis. Chances are that one or both have collapsed inside either blocking the tube or acting as a one way valve. This is very common these days - many flexis are over twenty years old - they have a design life of 10 years
